JROTC also known as junior reserve officers training corps, is a high school program that is provided as an elective
class, that requires no service obligation during or after school, during the entire school
year. The program that is offered at Killeen High School
is the army branch (AJROTC). Contrary to popular belief this program is NOT to recruit students into the armed forces. Our
only mission in the program is “to motivate young people to become better citizens.”
The program has many things to offer to young adults that are entering their high school career or even for seniors
who are getting ready to leave in to the world.
Extended Goals:
• Promote
citizenship
• Develop leadership
• Communicate effectively
• Improve physical fitness
• Provide incentive to live drug- free
• Strengthen positive self-motivation
• Provide a historical perspective of the military services
• Work as a team member
• Graduate from High School
The JROTC
programs across the country are some of the finest teaching organizations anywhere and Killeen is no exception, headed by
LTC(R) John Stanley, 1SG(R) Sergeant Percy Brown, CSM(R) Arturo Guzman, and MSG(R) John Green
